How It Works?

Grenada Process and Timeline

Step 1 Preparation Time

Pass initial due diligence checks and engage to proceed with application.

Sign GIS service agreement, pay a retainer and receive citizenship application package.

Collect required documents, and complete all government forms. Select qualifying real estate (if applying with real estate option).

Step 2 First Payment

Upon receipt of application package, GIS will check it against requirements. At this stage, GIS will ask you to pay for GIS professional fees in full (minus the retainer amount already paid), together with all government submission fees. Bank clearance process is initiated (It takes approximately 2 weeks to clear).

Step 3 Application Processing Time

Upon receipt of the fees, the funds will be remitted to the escrow account and the submission of the application and fees will be coordinated by GIS. If you apply under the Real Estate Option, your application package should include a signed purchase and sale agreement.

Step 4 Get Approval

The Citizenship by Investment Unit shall carry out due diligence tests on all applicants and shall return to their decisions. This is one of the following:

1) Approve

2) Deny

3) Delay for Cause

Step 5 Make An Investment

In case of approval, GIS will ask you to make a contribution to the NTF or pay the purchase price of the approved project (real estate).

*All funds sent to a bank account in Grenada will be subject to Bank charges at 1%, plus VAT on the bank charges at 15%.

Step 6 Receive Citizenship Document Package

Certificate of naturalization, permanent resident card (if applicable) and passport.

1. Why does Grenada have a citizenship by investment program?

The program was introduced to promote economic growth, attract real estate development, increase foreign direct investment to the country, support the development of infrastructure and provide for a sustainable future.

2. How many visa-free countries can I travel to as a citizen of Grenada?

You can travel to more than 143 countries without requiring a visa, including the EU and Schengen countries, China, Hong Kong and Singapore

3. What is the processing time?

Processing your application should take from 3 to 6 months.

4. Who can apply for citizenship?

To apply for the citizenship program in Grenada, you must be at least 18 years of age, be of a good character with no criminal record, and have good health.

5. Do I need to submit a separate Grenada Citizenship by Investment application for each family member?

No, this is not necessary. Spouses and dependent children up to 25 years can be included within the same application.

6. Do I need to speak English to apply for citizenship?

You don’t need to speak English to be an applicant.
